"Shadow Work by Machine"
U.S. Patent #6,101,962
Please Hoop up with 1-2 pieces of Aqua Magic stabilizer
or any Water Soluble Stabilizer. If in the beginning your stitching tears
the water soluble stabilizer, then re-hoop (start over) and add another sheet
of your water soluble stabilizer.
Make sure you Hoop very taunt and it stays taunt
during stitching. (This is so the outline stitching will match-up to pick-up
the bottom threads.
You stitch the first part of the design RIGHT
ONTO the stabilizers themselves. (You never hoop your fabric.)
Then place Double-stitch Scotch Tape around the
design. Just place 4 pieces right onto the water soluble stabilizer. Make
sure you cut all jump stitches from on top of the design in the hoop.
Now place your fabric where you want it over the
stitching on the stabilizers. Secure to the tape. Pull nice and flat. You
will turn your fabric in the direction that you want the design to be stitched
onto it.
When finished with the outline, remove hoop, clip
all jump stitches top and bottom. Trim away the excess stabilizer from around
the design in back. Then wash out the rest of the stabilizer, press with
iron to dry, spray starch and you have single fabric shadow work. Its EASIER
than a regular embroidery!
